The Lost Tribe of Accordion
EXODUS:2003 is the saga of a band of musical outcasts who are driven out and forced to wander for years in search of acceptance. Their crime? They have chosen the Unspeakable to be their Main Squeeze. The Accordionites face many trials and tribulations during their journey, but they are always able to overcome them through the power of music and the divine intervention of their Matron Saint, Our Lady of Spain. However, in-fighting among the different factions within their beleaguered band proves to be a more difficult obstacle. First, a fanatical subsect declares a Polka Jihad, stating that the Polka is the only true path to Salvation. Opposition to this smiley-faced totalitarianism grows quickly when the Accordionites realize that a Polka-Only Policy does not allow for the musical diversity that is essential to their sense of Accord. The Passionate Partisans of the Tango lead the revolt against Polka Domination by demonstrating that there is more to life than kishka and barrels of beer. ... Predictably, however, the jealous nature of their music turns the Libertangoteers into Tango Tyrants as they begin excluding all other forms of music from their daily rituals. This Tango Tyranny continues for many years until one day …. while the Accordionites are washing their polka-dotted clothes by the Rivers of Babylon, a Miraculous Vision appears to them, filling them with Great Wonderment. It is none other than The Maltese Fulcrum – reborn – as a HUMONGOUS ACCORDION!!! Inspired by the Sheer Glory of this Amazing Apparition, the Accordionites set aside their differences, and awaken to the realization that all styles of music are equally important … as long as they are played with an Accordion!
