I don't have any pictures of Nora from the November 4-5th 2000 visit in Aberdeen. But I have some great photos of Nora in Albuquerque over Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving 2000 was in New Mexico
It was a great trip. Nora and I stayed in the Monarch Hotel on Wednesday night and flew out of Portland on Thursday morning. We changed airplanes in Denver and were informed shortly after take-off that the meals were frozen and we would not be having lunch. Fortunately, we brought enough fruit and crackers to eat. There was enough food left over at Grandma and Grandpa Stapf's from Thanksgiving dinner for two hungry and weary travelers.
Nora was really good on the plane. She got fussy landing in Albuquerque and cried. After we landed and I took her out of her seatbelt, she was OK. I asked her to apologize to everyone for being fussy and she did. It was really adorable and even the mean (looking) guy in front of us turned around, smiled at Nora, and said that it was worth it to hear her cute apology.
We deplaned and saw my excited parents waiting for us. I had been telling Nora about my mom and dad explaining that my mom and dad were her Grandma and Grandpa. After hugging my mom, I told Nora "this is my mom." She reached out and said "Maa Maw." I thought my mom was going to cry.
