December 1999
During the early visits, Nora and I started a game running around the cabinet islands in the kitchen. It was apparent that she had played the chase game many times before. It was fun to watch her reaction after getting a flash of light when she caught up to me.

By the middle of December 1999, Nora and I had 9 visits. Although the visits were not all day long, and pretty much every other week, I began to be amazed that she would remember me and interact as if we had not moved apart. Our visits during this time would usually start at 9 AM on Friday and finish about 1 or 2 PM on the same day. Thinking about it, I had spent more time with her over these visits than many fathers, in the same span of months, who travel for their jobs.

During this time of development, Nora was a different child every visit. The scars from the Chicken Pox are visible on her left cheek. Since then, they have faded more and are hardly noticable.
