This is really not the prom page, but an interim page for two photos I felt like posting. They just both happen to be prom pictures.
This is Matt in 1987 in New Mexico. I will one day make a page for just photos of Matt and some of his art.
This is a picture of Ursula and I in Boulder. This was 1986. Ursula was a dear friend and the first girl I really felt that I had developed a deep emotion for. She helped understand more of who I was and what my capabilities are. I wasn't trying to look so sauve in the photo, but it really looks like it doesn't it? Back in 1990, I sent Ursula a wedding announcement and got the following letter back from her:
Fumbling with a forwarded envelope
at an overcast busstop in downtown Santa Cruz,
I unearthed one little shard of fondness,
one dusty remant of affection past.
I clutched the photo,
keeping it still in the breeze of fragmented memories blowing
by.
Surprised
not surprised
feel a little strange-
You seem so young,
yet so endlessly wise
through faraway eyes.
Kind one,
a fleeting image of you remains in my mind from before and always
and I wish you with all my heart
happiness forever
