WHAT'S NEW ON THE WVSP & NEWS

Last News Update: 07/10/04

Radio Shack reportly has the new PRO-96's in stock. This scanner is
supposedly to be the new digital scanner, costing far more less than what
the Uniden digital scanner is reportly being sold for, through RS at $700.
The 96 is being had at a reasonable price of $500, a few hundred dollars
less.

I hope to have one soon here in the shack and a review on it in the near
future.

Well, I promised myself, I'd get around to updating the Willamette Valley
Scanning Page for the new year. Over the next couple of weeks, hopefully,
I will be able to play catch up on things and put forth those scanning
related projects back on the drawing board and onto the site!

Happy new year to all!!!.....

Oregon Fire Page Communications Center

The Oregon Fire Page Communications Center currently monitors the
following two way radio services owned by the general public for
assistance and emergency calls. The various radio services are listed
below with freqs and tones we currently monitor such incidents.

CB Channel 9 (27.065)
FRS Channel 1 (462.5625) No PL (CTCSS) Tone needed
GMRS Emergency Channel 675 (462.675) W/PL tone 141.3

Our Eugene CB, GMRS and FRS Radio Callsign is "OREGON FIREPAGE".

Due to the limited number of OFP Dispatcher's in the Eugene and
Springfield area. These frequencies can be monitored by any OFP Duty
Dispatcher on the OFP Desk on a daily or nightly basis, when the time
permits the availability of a duty dispatcher to maintain watch on these
frequencies for assistance and emergency calls from the general public.

All assistance and emergency calls will be reported to the appropriate
emergency agency within the 911 system, when a call comes over our
radio's. The message will be relayed to 911 or designated person the
caller requests us to contact.

If there is no answer from an OFP Dispatcher to your needed request for
assistance, please go to a nearest pay phone and dial 9-1-1 for your
emergency respose. If someone is hurt, don't delay calling 911 emergency,
if carry a cellphone with you besides your two way radio, call 911
