JOHANN HINDRICK WESSELING
1
He married
Anna Gesina Thyen2
(Thÿen) on February 1, 1761 in Lingen at the Church of
St. Bonifatius.
The bride may have been born in Estringen and she was christened on
October 15, 1735 in Lingen.
Her parents were Theodorus Thyen
and Euphemia Thÿken3, who were
both from Estringen.
(Witnesses were Christoph Stolle and Joan
(Johann) Krieger.)5
Johann Hindrick died on April 30, 1805 in Laxten at 75 years of
age.
Anna Gesina died on February 9, 1815 in Laxten at 80 years of age.
- They were the parents of the following
children:4
-
- Johann Hermann
-
was born on January 31, 1762 in Laxten and was christened on the same
day in Lingen.

NOTES:
No paternal grandparents were sponsors as they both had died in 1749.
The exact time of the Johann Hindrick and Anna Gesina's being
Heuerleute at Bömers Heuer is not known. However, "Jan
Wesselink und Ehefrau Gesina Tien" were mentioned as being there in
17607, which would nearly correspond
with date of their marriage.
1. "Johannes Henricus Wesselinck" was a sponsor for a child
of Wilhelm Henricus Wesselinck and
Helena Tÿen on June 14, 1774 in Lingen. Of significance is
that his full name was used which might be the manner by which he had been
differentiated from other Johannes Wesselincks.
2. The parish's record of her death showed that she died
at the age of 80. In looking for a baptism in 1735 the above information
was found. Because the baptism was also recorded in the register of the
Bramsche parish, she may have been born in nearby Estringen.
3. They were married on October 27, 1728 in Lingen. In the
Bramsche parish's records they were married on September 29, 1728 and his
entry was written as "Dyrck Tyen j.m. van Estringen." This
earlier marriage may be additional proof that this family was from
Estringen.
4. Possibly another daughter, Maria Catharina
Elisabeth, may have born circa 1769 and she may have married
Martin Böhmer.
5. Because of the similarity in the names of the Krieger
sponsors, it may be that they were husband and wife and, thus, the uncle and
aunt of the child. In Lingen on November 11, 1749 Catharina Aleidis Wesselink married
Johannes Heinrich Krieger.
6. In 17607
Jan Herm
Thyen married Euphemia Anna Gesina
Kuhl in Lingen and they were Heuerleute at Hermes Hof
in Laxten.
7. See entries in Egbers/Röttering book.
