Emphasis was on wheel-thrown forms, altering of thrown forms, and glazing. Lessons were tailored to the individual's needs and desires. 1991-1994 Furnace Mountain Pottery Business owner and production potter. Converted a log cabin into a functional studio. Designed, constructed and maintained stoneware production and test kilns. Performed all phases of potting including throwing, glazing, glaze formulation, and firing. 1990-1991 Assistant to Deborah Horrell, Columbus, OH Fabricated monumental forms to fulfill a commission for the main lobby of the newly constructed cancer research center at The Ohio State University Clinic. Used power and hand tools carve organic forms from solid wood. Gave notice of meetings beforehand, and distributed minutes afterward in timely fashion, to a mailing list of 100+ members. Kept and maintained the files and records of the organization. 2002 Registrar, Clay Fest - Eugene, OR (Clay Fest is a volunteer-run, clay only show and sale) This position covered duties related to creation, mailing, return receipt and processing of show applications; conveying information to prospective applicants and other steering committee members; maintaining a data base of applicants; notification of acceptance or waiting list status; coordination with show chair and building chair for booth assignment; update and distribution of move-in packet; and updating concerned individuals of changes of participants.
