Democracy Rising: Voter Empowerment Day

Volunteers and Organizations are encouraged to join resources and kick-off a voter campaign to mobilize, educate and activate voters who are tired of lies and wars. Let's recover the citizen's voice in American politics and demand a truly democratic elections process.

Sign up to let folks know what YOUR group will be doing that day and if you will need any help.

There will be a range of events, from going out and registering voters at tables around the city to walking door to door in the Whiteaker Neighborhood, or your own neighborhood, dropping information about the Bush Administration's Deceits and/or registering people to vote, to a Peace Dove parading through the streets.
There will be a party at COZMIC Pizza, with music, at the end of the day, which EVERYONE is invited to.

The schedule of the day is:

1pm: Kickoff at COZMIC Pizza, 8th and Charnelton. Come and gather the information you will need to walk the streets educating and registering folks to vote.

1.30pm: Whiteaker Neighborhood Kickoff. Get your walking maps and information to pass on to folks.

    5pm: Party at COZMIC Pizza

During the Day at COZMIC Pizza: There will be a chance to write letters to your favorite elected official, voter registration, tabling by some of the participating organizations.

Action Taking: March 20th Action=For Kucitizens, action is parallel but seperate from JNWC volunteers. For Kucitizens, the variety of choices would be to (1) simply hang door-hangers on registered Democrat's doors per the walking lists supplied by Mark Mason, (2) Conduct the survey that Mark developed, or (3) pass out the JNWC literature door-to-door, or (4) set up a table somewhere to register voters and campaign for Dennis (the library is already spoken for). Be creative!

VOLUNTEER: We need someone to man a table at Cozmic Pizza, to distribute literature and coordinate canvassers into seperate neighborhoods for maximum coverage, for approximately the first hour from 1 to 2 PM, unless someone specifically says that they want to start later. If you have literature/signs/buttons/stickers to contribute to this table, bring it at 1 PM for sharing.

VOLUNTEER: I need several people to help carry the giant peace dove in shifts. It takes three people, ideally, although two may be able to manage it.

We are needed, that is all we can know. And though we meet resistance, we
more so will meet great souls who will hail us, love us and guide us, and
we will know them when they appear.
