Here are some tools for managing Spread. More information about Spread can be found at www.spread.org.
check_spread is a small utility that attempts to connect to a Spread daemon, and then reports on its success or failure. It can be used as a plugin for the NetSaint (aka Nagios) network monitor. For more information about NetSaint, see www.netsaint.org and www.nagios.org. Nagios and its plugins, including check_spread, are distributed under the GNU General Public License.
Spcount is a utility for counting the messages sent to a Spread group. It can be used to monitor a Spread segment, and can provide data for more advanced monitoring tools like MRTG and RRDtool. Included in this distribution is a simple Perl script, spreadplot.cgi, that can generate a graph in PNG format like the one above. Spcount is available under the Spread Open Source License.
These are early releases of these utilities. They have been compiled and tested only on FreeBSD.
