The summer wildflowers were in full bloom on our hike to the Iron Mountain lookout via the Cone Peak Trail. This hike meanders through the same areas popular with us in the winter for backcountry skiing. The wildflower meadows on the shoulder of Cone Peak are quite a contrast to its winter persona.
