KTCA-TV (Minneapolis / St. Paul)
TAPE'S ROLLING "The series' 12 half-hour documentaries do what regional public television can do best - telling the stories we'd never get a chance to hear, opening the doors we might never open, and introducing us to the neighbors we might otherwise never meet."
MNTV Showcasing the work of local film and videomakers through five seasons, produced at a cost of $50,000 per season. "...an astounding range of styles and genres, including dreamlike, impressionistic video paintings as well as gritty documentaries...features interviews with many of MNTV's writers, directors and producers - each telling behind-the-scenes stories about their innovative work."
DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE A series begun in 1992, with Twin Cities youth of color, dealing with topics relevant to their lives: respect, violence, justice, racial images, prejudice, health, community.
KQED-TV (San Francisco)
NEIGHBORHOODS: The Hidden Cities of San Francisco Exploring the rich history of the city's neighborhoods, "...reveals the city as a mosaic of communities with interconnecting pasts. Each episode covers the social, political, economic and cultural movements that created this city....a crucial sense of the traditions and diversities that link us, not only to the past but to one another."
GREEN MEANS A series of 25 short spots for the environment such as "The Green Cowboy," "Sewage Sanctuary", "Always Cry Wolf", "Creek Kids", "Prairie Prophet", "Garbage Museum".
