DRAGON & ANIMAL CHI in the landscape
Energy Patterns in Permaculture & Feng ShuiDesign science analysis of land potentials
How do we learn what living energy elements flow thru a landsite? ecozone & bioregion? This multi-dimensional approach is a deep Permaculture land & fertility analysis of the Terrain, Watershed & Soil with a neoFeng Shui view of Animal Chi thru the biosphere.
TERRAIN = energetic shapes & DIMENSIONS
1. Slope & soil textures? 5. Valleys & hollows?
2. Edges & cliffs ? 6. Ridges & peaks?
3. Gullies, revines & canyons? 7. Solar light exposure cycles?
4. Beauty & vibrations? 8. Temperature extremes?

WATERSHED FLOWS = catchment zone
1. Rain, snow & ice in cycles melting to flow over & in the ground?
1. Surface flows, branching & pooling, feeding grass, plants, trees?
2. Key lines - the edge where lowland meets slope, often wetter area?
3. Key points - on keyline where down-flows converge the wettest?
4. Ground water(aquifer) - flowing & pooling, even rising springs?
5. Drainage - over thru soil density, in seasons soggy wet cycles?
6. Purity of water source & flow, quality for drinking & growing?
7. Aqualife - creaturesgrowing in water: fish, bugs, reptiles, plants?
8. Extremes - wet season, storm & flood levels, 100 yr hi?,
dry season lows & drout levels maximums?
9. Sources for human use: springs, wells, pure stream, catching, etc?
10. Preperation for growing food, human needs & extremes levels?

SOIL PROPERTIES of fertility
1. Top soil & sediment depth & humus quality for growing?
2. Mineral content - sand, rocks, clay, lava, metal? need amendment?
3. Living creatures - worms, animals, bugs?
4. Density & drainage during/after rains, snows, etc?.
5. pH, acid & base/alkaline - needs be 6-8 pH to grow most plants
6. Vegitation in place - density of grass, trees, weeds/herbs?
Pioneers? volunteers? climax species?
7. Soil hardness & drainage of water?
8. Organic matter from plants & animals on ground ?
9. Cultivation - present & plantability for growing food?
DRAGON & ANIMAL CHI PATTERNS IN LAND
neoFeng Shui - reinterpreting land Chi
Traditional Feng Shui from China has invaded America, like 100 other Oriental trends, ,to teach U$ how to live more naturally.
But most modern Feng Shui is based on square indoor living, not much in harmony with raw nature, Chi knows litte pure land remains! Still Permaculture can use all organic awareness about the energy flowing thru a landsite to study, build, grow & live in balance with the elements of nature: air, fire, water, earth, wood, metal, etc.
In Feng Shui we use the 4+4 = 8 directions *& qualities of homelife, to maximise harmony & health, happiness & fortune with the spirit of Shen. The sacred square of Taoism is 8 sided octagon, with a mirror in the middle. However many old beliefs & traditions of Chinese Feng Shui must be tested for effect & power, not just trust them blindly arranging a home room or landscaping for generations.
Several Feng Shui schools have different meaning for animals & Chi flows. Dragon is the most powerful spirit creature recognized in Chinese culture, we can see:
Dragons are riSes in land forms, usually the hiest place in area: has strong up flowing energy in solid & invisible Chi force can be felt at
peaks, ridges, volcanos, etc - arms & legs desenting down ridges
fingers & toes the lowest ridges between water flows
Tiger hills are lower than dragons, with rounded tops, water flows slower, more into ground flow aquafir
Snake - energy is lateral flow, slow across land, a curving stream
Ox & turtle - are low mounds, big round rocks, humps, gentle hills
Stork & dragon head is the hiest point on mtn or ridge, a tower
Fish - is all the creatures that grow & move in the watershed
Sheep - the grazing animals, often domesticated, cattle, etc
Birds - fly around freely & represent the wind flowing thru space.
Rooster trumpeting - any explosion, eruptions, geyser, etc.
EARTH GRIDS GEOMETRY PATTERNS
Triangles tetrahedrons squares pentagons pentahedrons pyramids hexagons waves
spirals cubes bitetrahedrons branching
fractals of gravity: balls, eggs, eyes, organs, boobs, skulls, bays
Fractals of expansion/levity - spirals up & out, radiating energy
