This story is about a transforming of rebellious hi-school sweathearts into 33 yo parents of 4 homeborn boys, 3 blond dynamo boys & one Pices flower-child. Their last 3 birthed into water, homeducating now in a large multi-tarped campsite in the lush rainforest of tropical Hawaii isl. Their evolution from Tammy & Ron, into Kalah(now Lava) & Jahna married & together after 13 years of growing thru a dramatic series of intense hippy healing adventures in Oregon, No.Cali, & Hawaii where they 4 moved to live more free & natural at home in '88..

They moved out of parents home quickly after graduating from hi-school, moving into a conventional Eugene house to raise Zack their first white haired boy. In 1984 they formed a newage commune(Universing center with Micheal) in a cooperative house & attended 3 big natural healing gatherings at Breitenbush hot springs retreat center in OR Cascades. Our old wood heated house at the end of an alley by a mini-park in NW Eugene was secluded enuf to do radical self healing work & play, naked yoga & dance, Primal scream, rainbow art, Rebirthing in family bed, Creative Aggression conflict solving, & natural parenting, around some friends who stayed & visited them. Jahna moved into join just before they all moved out to Cottage Grove in 1985. That summer they found worktrade on remote forest land to build a mimimal campsite, for outdoor living naked, natural on earth & healing emotions in work & play, bed & sex in the woods..

Many 10,000s of hippies have moved back to the land south, east & west of Eugene since 1970. But their purpose to rebond emotionally together in family thru nature, yoga, rebirthing, conflicts & cooperating daily seems unique. Healing families are very alive & growing mostly in the country, not on media, except Mothering mag. & radical media. The national & global networks in the newage 'recovery movements' are doing: meditation, hypnosis, Rebirthing(breathwork), cosmic rituals, yoga, massage, dancing, vegetarian & organic gardening, inner cleaning, dreamwork, psychedelics, pagan rites, homebirthing & parenting naturally. But not all(as needed) in the family bed & wilderness...That's where we can be free, when we relax & play, explore & move into altered states of awareness in balance with kids & the Universe.

Over the next10 years K, J & kids moved 15 times learning self balance, organic parenting & healing in community cooperation. Being together mostly during the 13 years changes with 4 kids by same father, is now rare for any newage family thats worked & experimented with consciousness raising during '80s & 90s. In fall of '85 Kalah took Zack with a lover to Hawaii to explore, grow & heal some old conditioning, living on the beach, hiking remote vallies, living in jungle, etc. Jahna & MIcheal traveled to Hawaii to join her in spring of '86 in Puna, Pahoa big. isl. bush.

In summer '86 they returned to No.Cal(MS via Oregon) to live at Greenfield ranch/commuity on 50 of 2,000 acers of subdivided unfenced rugged hill & valley lands near Ukiah. Kalah got pregnant

as they moved out of a barn we fixed up there. After exciting, stressful & healing months & helping the No. Cal. Natural healing gatheraing there, they moved back to Oregon. That's because Jahna was kicked out of Greenfield in spr.'87. So they drove to Eugene to her moms to camp-out in back yard & birth Rom Jamal at home in Kalahs mothers bathtub, with only Jahna assisting her. They had done much Rebirthing work to heal past tramas & read Ideal Birth by Sondra Ray, to prepare for the natural waterbirthing at(her mothers) home.

They were crazy with innosent trust, courage & confidence to do the birth lay-midwifery style, as 1,000s of hippies have done. Kalah just needed the space to feel it all, move & let it(baby)out

thru any pressure, pain, heat & pleasure rushes in labor & after-

birth. Their sense of tantric connecting of hearts bonded K & J together more with each birthing in water at home. This new trend in homebirthing was pioneered in the U$ by Rebirthing parents & hippies in the late '70s & early '80s. But it actually began in France & Russia in '60s(Odent, Leboyer & Charkovsky).

After RJs birth In fall of 87 they regrouped again at the Orchard St. (Eugene,OR) house to live communally bonding with RJ

in cooperative household & parenting, feeling primal healing with children & new lovers thru the fall & winter. Some moved in & out changing the dynamics thru Roms first cold season. He & Luna have grown up mostlly in Puna, big island Hawaii, as K & L moved there in spring of '88. Their. vast, 3,000 mi. leap trusting the universe/Pele will support them without sponcors to welcome them. Hawaii opens its heart to natural souls.

They quickly moved into a large wood house on H.Babaji temple land in dense rain forest on ruff back road, very private & primal wetness, 2 miles from Mtn.View village school. Jahna worked in Kona & camped out on the beach to get some space when they were stressing. Another family from No.Cali & MS moved in with them there. In Pices '89 their 3rd homeborn boy delivered quickly into

a home made tub of water, from Kalahs most relaxing & first Hawaiian pregnancy in her home in '89. So Jahna again assisted Kalahs mostly instinctual birthing process, as she naturally moves, breathing, emotes & voicing, to open up & let out the strongest labor rushes & contractions in the tub & bed.

She & Jahna were on & off, him staying, camping away for days to months (on the beach while working at big hotels in Kona.), at her request. MIcheal also joined them in Hawaii('88-90), but not during the birthings. Those many mini-seperations of space = graceful-distancing between K & J & M has certainly helped them keep contact & growing unique, when conflicts prevented trust, harmony & cooperation at home.

We love natural fires, so often had fires in pits & wood stoves in NW & outside in Hawaii, where its warm all the time.

We even did small dome sweat-lodges, wood or gas fired outdoor hotubs. Indoor we love moving free in our 'living room', so we made it open to dance(with stereo boombox), play, do yoga, massage, hamocking, wiggle, eat, arts & crafts on the floor, in bed or? in daily spontaneous pulses,like pillow fites are fun! In summer & Hawaii the outdoor calls to its spaceous, freer & warmer dimensions. We do many adventures to lakes, seaside, volcanos, hotponds, parks, etc, are real needs to play & balance out our energy for free.

Kalah befriended her divorced parents (mostly her mom) begining in Oregon in late 80s mostly in Eugene & GReenfield, so they continued contact, occational visits a week or so in Oregon & big isl at home. Jahna was still estranged from his parents & siblings so they rarely even share letters or phone calls. Kalah is very talkative, far more yacky than Jahna or their children. So apparently the self & family healing work & natural living they

all did in NW US bonded them together enuf to move & settle in & down together. But Jahna still needed more space away from total family responsibilitly for self & 1-3 small boys. Their 2 years there was the most stable of all since leaving parents '82-3.

So in '90 they moved whole family with friends into smaller house on bigger land, more open & remote, 5 mi from main road & Mtn. View. The others there moved out in a few months from the 1 acer back lot in Fern acers with many back roads & vast forests. MIcheal did his first family astrology chart of their family there. AFter he left for India they, K & J joined an EST style encounter group meetings to improve their communication skills in summer of '90. Also a few friends attented under the direction of Kerry King leader. Kalah became King's main assistant co-leading various groups then. So they grew closer by reaching out to the community thru 'Com-Com' systems & scheduals. They were devoted assistants, volunteering for about a year. From that they later went to work in a natural health food store, got solar power, TV, good bicycles & toys, like a big trampoleen..

The next & 4th blond boy 'Ira' a was their 3rd born into water at home was Ira, a firey willful ARies(Apr.fools day) with lots of water planetsyns in his Zodiac chart. 5 years of growth & relative stability evolved at Fern acers, until after Ira came. Then the shakeup disturbed the tranquility, as a great need for more space for 4 dynamic boys to explore & expand into. So they joined Kuaihelani, a new forming commune with others living in Kau, So.Pt. on 2 acers of semi permaculture land where Micheal stayed doing Permaculture for almost 3 yrs(91 to 94),until they moved in, he left to Kauai in '95.

They quickly grew from 10 to 15 members with young kids. Nuclear couples weren't allowed to be monogamous in their Shivalila style of tantra, free-love, parenting & 'psychedelic' medicine orientation, awakener or source of their vision together. They also took a Shamanic weekend together with Rashani in her octagon shelter on Kau spirit land.

Later on they all moved to 12 acers(3 cleared & planeted before around huge mango trees)to Kapoho near friends, the Papaya(agro) farms & the seashore. K & J stressed out after 6 months or so, had learned how to live 'tarping it' in the rainforest; so they moved near-by to campout in a empty Ironwood grove near Green Mtn & the sea on friends land. In their first solo big family campsite they grew & got sick with bronchitus, which lasted months, as Kalah traced the causes to lead poisoning in water catchment, wheat allergy & emotional sources & possibly the geo-thermal venting gases. After about a year there they moved again, to semi-communal land closer to the 'geothermal well'.

That moved stressful & expanding at once, lots of hard work building a similar camp in overall structure from their last camp, only a few miles away up-hill. They hauled a full kitchen, family beds, trampoleen, generator, cupbords, bikes, tools, flooring, tarping, toys, clothes, bathtub, etc to new land. Now they llve there on 10 acers of 2nd growth gauva, wild sugarcane fields & many banana trees, & some bulldozed roads & pad to build on., near other on-land. The boys love Calvin & Hobbes cartoons & other stories read to them. They share organic gardens & other spaces, becoming closer as friends & family.. 2 or 3(Zack, Rom & Luna maybe) go to homeschooling teacher 2 or so days/week.

They have very busy life setting up & improving the camp, relaxing & playing enuf to balance it all out in purity of nature to be organic & happy. The older boys do varied chores, & stayovers at their friends homes or camping, actually learning in & thru any experience, not just books, art, academics & problem solving skills, they do have. Even in Oregon they trust, help out & agree to cooperate on many daily needs with: food, clothes, cleaning & art & crafts, & pet/animal care. In fact, they've had a zoo at home of many different animal over the years. From a horse in ORegon, to many cats, dogs, birds, rats, frogs, snakes, mice, chickens & a goat, teaching them how to serve & enjoy the creatures which sometimes eat each other. Both K & J have learned to use many useful skills at home & some local jobs, while homEduating the boys. But its been rare for them to share homEd with other kids into growing naturally, given the maxi-freedoms & passions they enjoy nude at home, anytime in Hawaii. Jahna is the steady helper, fixer, gatherer of resources, while Lava is more a dreamer, starter, director & dramatic lover of life & completing projects.

Keeping healthy & healing ills has challenged them all thru various 'normal' Hawaii diseases like: staff infection, head lice, scabies, cold, coff, rare flu; but lots of scratches, cuts, scraps, burises, etc, amoung those adventuring boys daring to do new

trips. They usually use herbs & natural remedies for tropical ills, aches & pains. They are so different & natural, peaceful or battling(each other) & creative in cycles of passionate focus. Zack the biggest boy is a boyman, playful yet often responsible for jobs, kids & self. But he gets wild & silly, joyful or mysterious like the other boys.

Kalah changed her name to Lava around the last tarp camp move. Lava is a Leo/Virgo cusp Sun & Libra moon, inspires her leadership of their family. Jahna is Libra Sun & Virgo moon. But both take suggestions, trust & even correct each other when needed. So they cooperate on many projects/day, unless she stays in bed recharging. Jahna is the big strong & soft dad, a peaceful soul whose 'star-crossed' lovers with Lava in astrology & Hawaii.

They've tranformed the normal(U$)city resistence to bugs, dirt, hot & wet, stink & poop, storms & fear of pain, by recognizing that dreams, needs & feelings are primal motives & functions. But we've not shared most of the 'natural primal' parenting ways of raising the boys by cooperating free & naked playing, bonding & growing aware with them with other newage families. Nor the altered states of self healing old deep tramas to become totally present with each other changing. being here now. Thats a whole related field of many deep stories we'll explore later. Like how Lava nursed all 4 boys(sometimes 2) for 2-3 yrs each in the family bed or anywhere.

So now what more natural magic can happen to grow there? after 13 years of challenges 15 moves, birthing & bonding with 4 boys in different homes, finally camping out in nature. Is this the natural newage lifestyle of voluntary simplicity, to both escape hi stress economics, traffic & be free to grow more natural, creative & unique daily? Their life is adventuring thru mystery, groupings & awareness, trust & honesty, in a mostly democratic process. They haul their water in by wheels, get catchment water for raw washing, use solar & generator for 12 VDC power to run the stereo, TV & some lights.

They still love & use candles at night, & bikes & footravel in during days around the bush & back roads. This kind of eco-family life could be a trend if a global economic crash or eco-spasm happens to wipe out industrial supply lines. They could survive or even enjoy it, bacause of neighbor cooperating, vast local fruits & organic gardening in many families nearby! For example they often forage foods growing naturally in season like: bananas, papaya, mango, avocato & many others. They have favorite trees to pick when ripe & share the abundance with friends. Thats normal in 3rd world countries, & new settlers, like trading & barter they do.

Setting up a big home camp is like building your own home, except much simpler. Many rural families have summer camps on their or shared lands to enjoy the Nature. Creative work & play are natural there, & large hippy gatherings have initiated the whole movement to reinhabit beautiful lands. Of course water- proofing & pure source are most imporlant functions, especially when it rains. In Hawaii intense downpors can happen anytime of the day or year, sometimes mosoon-like typhoons. So the tropics all around earth must solve these survival problems in the elements where everything(it seems) grows & rots faster than in temperate & cold climates. Anyway, acclimatizing is the key process for naturalizing simple bush living & radical climate shifts. However trusting agreements to cooperate is equally challanging for U$ raised in cities of competition & fears, moving into the bush where trust-building is difficult & essential for peace at home to evolve with childrens strong instincts herenow.
