DEFORESTING GLOBAL WARMING &  CLIMATE CRISIS

Causes & Effects & SOLUTIONS NOW

In Western Oregon we have vast forests, waters & farmland, so our deforesting seems harmless with infinite supply. How much paper, wood & cardboard are we using, recycling & wasting daily & yearly?  How many trees cut down, chipped up & melted down for reading daily newspapers, school/office & cleaning & packaging papers? How much pollution is made to chop down, transport & process the wood into lumber, paper & cardboard making bad sulfur-acid stink of paper/cardboard factories? What are we giving our children & grandkids to suffer in their future of denied waste now speeding past the consequences in hangovers of our pollution??  That adds to global heating up bioregions, melting our glaciers & poisoning land, waters & skies.

                    PATTERNS of CAUSE & EFFECTS

1  Massive logging of lands in No. America - supplying wasteful paper, cardboard & lumber making industries, emitting sulfur-dioxide poison gas emissions into bioregional air & watersheds causing acid-rains downwind.

2. The logging & paper industries are owning the US Forest Servicing their needs daily, even more since Bush money took over Feds

3. Deforesting is screwing up our climate in arctic forests dying from , melting permafrost killing millions of trees & flooding shorelines.

4. 1000s of wildfires in dry/drouty forests carbonizing & heating our atmosphere & hot- winds combining to make dust bowls & deserts!

5. Acid rains hitting & killing downwind trees, herbs & forests animals with toxic chemicals.

But why are we taking millions of trees down so fast now? co-creating global- warming, with all the other causes Sun energy, carbon fuel burning, sea-bottom volcanoes, RC & space heating, roofs, pavement, big dams, farming, & war all combine heating up our climate!

Our healthy forests keep the land, water & atmosphere cooler balancing fertility thru the seasons. Why do we need to consume so much tree wood for lumber & using toxic chemicals to make endless cardboard & paper!  How are all those heating up our bioregions? We don’t see forest destruction, unless you drive or hike into total logged land, also causing wild fires.

Where’s our ecology awareness of efficiency, balancing & integrity of natural renewables gone, to sleep in great luxury of ignoring our pollution & waste.  It’s slow collective suicide of mass unconsciousness with superior technology, religion of BIG science in war on Nature buy big business of drive in utopia.  We’re paying US taxes & wage slave workers to do the dirty work we don’t see, or do we?

The effects of deforesting are: floods & avalanches in ecozones where bare soil is dried hard & heavy rains runoff downhill in runoff often eroding topsoil, often accumulates into lowlands & streams dirtying clear water animals need. Logging roads bulldozing watersheds immediately hurting local stream flows.  Also rains can undercut a bluff causing it to fall, or soak into soft sandy soil on steep hillsides into mud & sliding down into ravines, ponds, homes, farms, roads, lakes, rivers. Who cares?
