In our hi-tech culture
we depend on money-time economy of power supplying technology more normal than
natural energetic patterns & cycles in our bioregion. We tend to ignore Natural rhythms &
climate health. So how can we
teach & learn about nature? & low tech at home & in our
communities? Most academic science
rarely teaches the raw natural patterns, recycling & cycles of nature;
while depending on super- tech energy pro-duction, inputs & importing for
consuming. I love, observe & sense
7 natural elements patterns of: air space, firenergy, water flow, earth base,
minerals, Life cycles & spiraling patterns. So to reduce our consuming
& waste, naturalizing we need new ways to educate about energy sources
& effects on our health, home & happiness.
We need to be
outside in nature daily watching weather, plants, animals, waters, soil, etc,
to keep learning patterns. How can
we feel, share & learn these together for greening up, simplifying &
powering down in our green neighborhoods.
Most children enjoy nature, after they get un-addicted to TV, computers
& toys. Nature is free, exciting,
healthy & constantly showing her patterns of causes & effects. In order to understand whole systems cycles
we find in nature, help us conserve energy at home & anywhere.
Deep ecology, complete recycling, bicycling & growing
ÔFood Not Lawns; are
natural ways of reducing our carbon & energy waste heating up our
environment into climate crisis.
We can learn how nature is always flowing toward balancing in mid
range, daily, seasons,
yearly & so on; even tho its getting hotter & drying that last 20 years
on earth.
ThereÕs a 100
varied natural projects kids do in many places like learning about natural causes & effects, human impacts & efficiency: measuring & reporting carbon use & exhaust, saving, waste & energy conservation, transportation needs
& costs; natural gardening,
planting & tending trees, prey-predator
relations; seed collecting, storing, swapping &
trading; animals care, riparian shore-bank & wetland eco-zone
care; watershed & habitat protection, fishing, eco-forestry,
identifying, planting, pruning
& harvesting trees; collecting
biomass for composting soil, worm
beds, bird watching &
learning; weather & climate cycles, measuring temp, pressure &
humidity pH of air, water &
food concentrations; water &
soil testing, collecting local & wild herbs, fruits, nuts &
roots; fire wooding, food gathering, fixing, drying, preserving, fermenting &
storing. Growers markets, bartering, etc. Dozens
more innovative & needed for local fertility like: the multi uses of
growing & using hemp/cannabis growing here
Another
dimension of natural patterns are the geometry of change, chaos &
structures:
Geodesics, Triangles & crystals, polyhedrons
& domes, Tetrahedrons, pyramids & tripods, circles & arcs, hexagon
gridworks, A-frames, tipis, yurts,
fractal branching,,
orbs, eggs & spheres, wells
& pottery, tubes, beams, axis, leverage, posts, hinges, spiraling rope, screws, drills & propellers, windmills, plants,
ivy, vines & trees; insects
& birds flight paths, basketry, water flows, Vortexes, magnetism & torusphere gyro balancing, fish swimming, wicking
& seeping, etc.
