Are industries new ‘green’ con -game of selling goals & images of how good we’re becoming? Or redesigning total extracting, producing & transporting to US. Reversing directions of industrial wasting more we pay for packaging is a modern miracle, only done by daring innovative techy genius, or dire necessity of lost resource supplies coming easy like rain & glacier water for farming, industry & city lawns.

Must we learn how much we’re wasting to stop it & save $, time & effort consuming wasteful goodies we believed so good, classy & needed from factory stores supplied in super tech speedy power grids run by central control? Natural human needs are for energy are10% what we consume in cities & wasting 90%, ignoring & raving our extravagant waste.

In general sustainable means long-lasting, surviving, rugged, strong, durable, ever recycling, enduring, seasonal, eternal or infinite supply like sun & weather; balancing prey/preditor relations in cycles, predictable, Now most big science ignores sustainability of natural systems, because industrial progress is based on consuming resources assuming infinite supply, ignoring pollution, waste, toxins causing illness. In PC our basic technology is very simple efficient & durable in long-range needs, effects & supplies in our bioregional resources cycles.

The “Oxford Dictionary of Ecology” (UK ‘98/’04) only sites “Sustainable Development” of industry studied resources by UN, not of natural systems cycles. Why omit nature? We need to examine what minimum human needs for energy, food, water & air are supporting healthy living. We need deep survey of human settlements carrying capacity & ecological footprint – impacts on local resources. But global war industry has ignored natural sustainability, while raping any resources available. They mostly study immediately useable resources into 50-100 year future of oil/gas, metals, water, food & soil to feed empire industries & weather cycles with global warming since 1980s.

There’s few kinds of sustainability beside industrial development of war economy based on entropy & eternal progress. Sustainable natural & organic systems cycles are millions of cooperating elements & living creatures needed natural life support In Permaculture we need, study & use local seasonal & long lasting soil, waters & minerals. Our simple designs of tools, structures & This deep survey began with Buckminster Fuller in 1960s called “World Game” for cooperating together in peaceful world of utopian communities.

I did WG seminar of 3 weeks in 1971 with 80 people to learn our energy can supply our health needs in the future. This was computerized in “Limits to Growth” book 1974 by ‘Club of Rome’ think tank. Also In 1970s the UN & World Wildlife Fund & ‘World Conservation Strategy’. These are world empire studies for resources supplies, not to preserve protect, conserve & respect Mother Nature for healthy living now & the future.

Our future seems ever more threatened by loss & lack of natural purity & supplies of needed resources in oceans, skies, wilderness & metals to mine for all industry. In fact their survey of world resources exploded during World war 1 the first big ‘oil war’ are industry based, that Bucky Fuller worked for US war gov. So they have & publish global studies of industrial needed resources of water, metals, electricity, wood/paper, nuclear & food supplies for cities for maxi profits in war economy. Since 70s dozens of ecology & conservation groups have formed & grown & working to save special, bioregions & water purity, against the stealing & poisoning of Nature & our health by hi toxin war economy corps.

However Permaculture uses local bio-regional models of how nature work locally to supply our needs respecting all creatures & people honestly sharing resources fairly. In PC we haven’t used ‘World Game’ or CoR oversized & unatural studies for our local sustainable homesteads in cooperative communities. How long do tools last, how much energy to make & run them? Human powered tools depend on our healthy needs & energy to make & use, not big factories with multi imported resources the designer don’t even see.

We need many perennial plants & trees, fertile soil, good supply of clean waters we harvest, store & use as needed for local organic living needs now. Harvesting solar power is needed for growing most plants & living in colder bioregions, in natural ways & Solar 12VDC panels now on 1000s of PC hometeads. So how do we convert &or drop our mass industrial wasting war economy? From grass roots up at home & localizing our needs & resources here now in 100 ways at home recycling, conserving & saving energy.

In PC we design, use & blend super-efficient technology with local organic needs for build-ing & growing organic foods all us animals need for enduring life in balancing with bio-regional elements. The ancient family farm-ing with organic deigns in bioregions. Nature is the perfect sustainable self-renewing organic healthy systems suggested in 1970s by ecology movements, Gaia Theory &less by World game studies. The spreading of toxins around earth is still a great mystery cause of multi diseases & maybe epidemics of toxins.

Then in 1980s Permaculture began defining natural resources essential for healthy human homesteads in cooperative communities still living on earth in remote bioregions. They don’t think in century long durability except for water supplies & 100 yr maximums of disaster to be prepared for. They live in traditional sustaining communities without knowing beyond their seasons & horizon, except trading resources with nearest cultures over-lands, seas & Mtns. Rural China , Asia, Siberia & Africa are perfect examples of villages & regions trading resources for centuries as needed. But wars have damaged many eco-networks by destroying cooperation between them, hurting habitats, converting & killing leaders, with religions, businesses & schools invading old cultures.

The conquering of Americas & wild west are horrible examples hyped as great empire history still expanding progress now in 100 nations & 1000s bioregions, while Permaculture si growing unknown to all city-zens & industry, except where they battle the native working to protect their bioregion to sustain traditional living. A paradox is many rural folks are seduced or scared & sucked into city living in power-grid of business, loosing & forgetting the earthy family roots of growing foods for centuries. Habits are unhealthy in communities influenced by war with other tribes & cults. So wholistic Permaculture is gone or lost in many natives for many reasons, like lost bonding with mother & natural cycles, instincts & awareness of local growing patterns essential for being happy, healthy & sustainable. Even loving nature is essential & natural, we call ”feminine instincts & maternal intuition” needed for healthy birthing, bonding & continuing learning & sharing local fertility patterns & skills with children growing up on homesteads they respect with natural needs.
