Schmid is a Naturopathic doctor that writes from his experience & many others. He bases much suggestions on the extensive field work of Weston Price, a dentist/anthropologist who traveled earth studying native health in early 1900s when many natives ate organic & some were into processed foods, providing great comparison of their health. He discovered their teeth were usually perfect if on traditional natural diets, & crowded, cavitied & diseased if on imported western food types. This was widely published in 1930 & ‘40s, but was burried under the massive campaign of agribiz & chemo-medicines, denying that diet is primary source of heatlh & disease. Schmid integrates this causal evidence in his balanced explainations of foods sources & results.
