GREENHOUSE GASES   FROM   DEFORESTION  - Causes & Effects Climate Crises

 

Deforestation is rapid or gradual dying of a forest of any bioregion, usually in wilderness.  Some causes of   It are:

 

1. T:L-CC = Total logging ~clear-cutting most or all trees for used in lumber/paper/packaging industries.

 

2. Slash & burning down trees to clear land for farming & grazing. 

 

3. Over-grazing animals on lands, eating all the foliage can kill trees.

 

4. Spraying herbicides/defoliants, usually in war to destroy enemies

5. Bull-dozing forests clearing lands for farming, building, grazing,

                                                                      dams, hiways.

 

6. Damming up rivers covering forest lands, destroying native habitats

 

7. Agribiz mono crop food farming, spraying herbicides killing weeds & pests destroys natural soil fertility in few years, causing erosion &

                                                                                    deserting

 

8. Corridor clearing for hiways, oil pipe lines, airports, train tracks,  

                                                                                    power lines

 

9. The natural rapid melting of Permafrost lands in Arctic releases greenhouse  gases: methane from the soil composting & C02 from

                                                                                    rotting trees.

The effects of these creates greenhouse-gases into the sky in many ways.

 

1. When forests are burned by anyone/wildfires releases great  

                            carbon, soot, CO2 & heat into atmosphere.

 

2.  Chopped & BURNED forests have barren soil, heating up &  

        drying out, Reducing fertility, easily eroded & washed away during  

                                                                                    heavy rains

 

3.  Defoliated forests from poisoning, war & bulldozing take years to grow natural ground covers & decades to regrow forest canopy there.

 

4.  Clear cut land has Ôpositive feedback system, heating up, drying out, killing soil & species, eroding away & loosing water table from fast run-off rain & melt, even creating deserts, like in some mountains & Amazon watershed now

 

5.  Fast growing young forests need/suck CO2 to grow full & generate Oxygen in seasons cycles. Mature/climax forests are more in balance of C02.

6. Deforested land destroying animal habitats, kills & chases away  

                                                                                          families.

 

7. Killing forests is like shaving off hair on furry animals, loosing its protection

 

8. Eroding forest soil Ð sediment washed wash by rains clogs up streams, hurting or destroying free & water life creatures habitats &

                                                                                    their prey

 

9.  Fast burning forests dump zillions of tons of greenhouse gases in air, are blown away into biospheric weather systems as greenhouses gases, are the Opposite to volcanic ash eruptions dimming/darkening & cooling the sky by reflecting sunshine, thatÕs captured by greenhouse

                                                                                          gases.

 

10 Cut forests with trees down & rotting slowly releases carbon into

11.  People living in cities donÕt see/sense the whole life cycles of forests & how burning, killing & logging destroy them & native habitats.
