Germania Death in Berlin

Summary: Mueller's first great play, completed in 1971, is best described as the bullet train through the nightmare of German prehistory. You'll never be able to look at your local one-party state in quite the same way again, and Mueller's cameo as the skull-seller is worth the price of admission alone. Note that the footnotes in the PDF file are my own explanations for relatively obscure events or institutions. I've also preserved as much of the original formatting (e.g. capitalization, line breaks, free verse, etc.) as possible.
