- Peter Buck's sideband
the "Minus 5" made a stop in my town in 2002. They put on a stellar show in a
great little hole-in-the-wall bar here in Eugene. It was really great of
them to stop here on their night off from their current tour. I got the
pleasure of talking and hanging out with Peter, Ken, Scott, John, and the rest
of the band for the evening. I also got a chance to meet a fellow R.E.M.
and Minus 5 fan, Kate, which made the night one to remember. Thanks
everyone! For pictures of the show, please Click Here.

Ex-Drummer Bill Berry
says ...
"Halfway through the tour we were so burned out by it that we were just
on stage going through the motions. We really felt we were robbing the audience
of what they deserve. We were playing in arenas a little larger than we were
comfortable with and the whole thing was pretty depressing." ... about
their 1989 touring experience.
Guitarist Peter Buck
says ...
"I have no interest in doing the stadium thing anymore, I don't think
we're going to do that again. Whatever we do in the future will be kinda like
this, small places." ... at the small venue club Borderline, in London,
doing the Bingo Hand Job show in early 1991. (We're lucky that they changed
their mind!)
Singer Michael Stipe
says ...
"Don't tie them [shoes] in a double knot, I'll never get out of
it."
