The first time I heard anything from R.E.M. was when I was about 14. The first song I heard was "Stand" and it was playing on MTV at the time I was doing homework. I immediately got attached. It was the first song ever that triggered a great feeling in my head that no other music had done before! A few years passed and I decided to pick up Out of Time because I had liked "Losing My Religion". When I first heard "Radio Song" play through my headphones I knew right then that it was the best music I had heard in my life!! The feeling that past through me was one that I could not describe. The album grew on me more and more, as I told everyone that R.E.M. was my favorite group. I could not wait until the next album was released, and when it was I was one of the first to buy it! I liked it too, and listed to both of these for a long while. I went to summer camp in late '93 after my graduation, and they played other R.E.M. albums and I was hooked once again. So when I returned I went to the local record store and bought "Green". I listened through it once and thought "YUCK!", this is bad! Although I was attracted to "You are the Everything", but still I didn't think it was good enough to keep. I took it back to the store and tried to return it, but they wouldn't let me, so I said to myself "okay, I'll give it one more try". I did, and after hearing the songs over and over again I was back in the R.E.M. swing. I quickly bought all of their older albums and after listening to them over and over again I knew they would be my favorite forever. Just recently, I have started to collect all of their albums and magazines they have appeared in. I have done a lot of extensive research on R.E.M. and found out many exiting things. My favorite song is "Pretty Persuasion" by R.E.M.. .... Now I cannot go a day without listening to R.E.M. ....
