Learn how a computer works. Hands on class to learn how to operate the mouse, keyboard, diskettes, and the printer. Learn how to write a letter on the computer. Learn what the Internet is all about. This class is intended for folks who know little or nothing about personal computers.

General Computer Literacy I will cover concepts and skills to help a beginner get started using a computer for a variety of tasks. The class will cover mouse skills, basic hardware and software and file management. Whether you are interested in internet, or graphics, or writing, or email, or investing, this class will help you get started. The concepts we will use will apply whether you use a PC or Mac, old or new.

General Computer Literacy II is for people who already have some experience with computers, and want to sharpen and broaden their skills. The class will delve into more detailed areas of working with words, graphics, files, and the internet. We will emphasize skills and concepts that apply to a wide variety of software applications and computer platforms. There will be lots of time for your personal questions too.

Advanced work with words, images, email and web surfing, for experienced computer users. We will look at some of the ways you can customize your desktop and your software, and explore some tips, tricks and shortcuts to make your computer time more fun and productive.

Learn to set up a free Yahoo e-mail account, read and send e-mail, use the address book, save mail in folders, read and send attachments, etc. Learn to access and use a free e-mail account from public computers. Perfect for travelers or those who don't own a computer. There will be plenty of time for practice and questions.
