"Rising Sun" is the first release by Corvallis' 10 Dollar Mic. Three of
the songs off of this EP can also be found on the Listen
Up Sonny compilation. Ten Dollar Mic has really come along way since
I first saw them a couple years ago. They have really developed musically.
Skadzilla and Rising Sun are both instrumentals. They're both really good.
Skadzilla is a Skatalites-esque song. It has an introduction with an organ
which sounds really nice. The other four songs are some "faster" songs,
but not buck-wild fast! I really like this EP. If you've ever seen this
band live, you know they like to have fun and enjoy their music. You can
hear it in the CD.
