LASC is currently seeking interns for the upcoming school terms. We are a locally-based, grassroots non-profit organization. Much of our work is educational in nature, but we are also hold fundraising events, organize vigils, rallies and other actions, and work with other local groups on a variety of projects. We have been working for social change, both here in Eugene/Springfield and in Latin America, since 1982. More information about our organization is available at our website: www.efn.org/~ciscap/ An internship with LASC gives invaluable experience to anyone whose future plans include grassroots organizing, political work, office management, or various other areas of work. Interns develop exceptional organizational skills in the areas of volunteer coordination, fundraising, office work, and public events. These skills, along with the wealth of knowledge that is gained about Latin American issues, will make interns excellent candidates for whatever undertaking they choose in their lives after graduation. Many of our interns have gone on to become activists in LASC, in other solidarity organizations, and in non-profits around the world. To apply for a LASC internship, please send a brief resume, including past experience with, or knowledge of, the following: Latin America, grassroots political work, organizational work of any kind, or other skills and/or experience that you would like to bring to the work. Include information about your current studies and future school plans. And of course include contact information, and how soon you will need to decide about the internship to be able to sign up for the credits.
