You will have three lovely quizzes which will assist you in organizing and expressing your understanding of the material of the course. The quizzes will use the "Slide Comparison" method, which is described in exhaustive detail at the site linked here. These quizzes will require you to memorize a number of works of art, which you will find listed on the List of Monuments page and which have been cited in class.
The quiz will consist of several pairs of slides (number to be revealed before each quiz). Each pair has at least one thing in common, and usually there is at least one difference between the two. Review the site at the link for more information. We will go over this type of quiz in class at least once and you may ask or e-mail me questions at any time (acd@efn.org)
The second Quiz will be Thursday, Sept. 28 and will cover art from the Egyptian period forward. Please see the Monuments List for more details.
The third Quiz will be on Tuesday, Oct. 10 and will cover Greek art (from Geometric Art forward) through the end of that chapter.
