"The Smithsonian's Museum Conservation Institute is offering a short-term internship in archaeological conservation. It will be four to five weeks in duration, between early July and mid-August, based entirely in Panama City, Panama, as part of a collaborative conservation and technical study of pre-Columbian Panamanian gold and gilded artifacts. International travel expenses and on-site living costs will be covered. Applicants should currently be enrolled in or recently graduated from recognized conservation training programs. Preference will be given to an applicant who has training in objects conservation with special emphasis on archaeological materials (especially metals). Candidates must be fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Annual? "The Department of Art of the Ancient World at the MFA, Boston is pleased to announce the inauguration of a Niarchos Classical Art Curatorial Internship. The internship will be project-based and offer hands-on experiences in a range of activities, which may include object handling, documentation, installations, conservation treatments, recording and archival work, and presentations to the public. Projects will be determined on the basis of the applicant?s expertise and the needs of the Department.
Applications are now being accepted for the internship, which will begin in Autumn 2007 and last for two months. The intern will work full-time (35 hours/week) at the museum for the period of the internship. A stipend of up to $4000 (paid at an hourly rate) will be available. Candidates should be advanced graduate students or recent PhDs in Classical or early Byzantine art and archaeology who are interested in careers in art museums. An annual summer program. "The Anglo-American Project in Pompeii runs an integrated program of research and training each summer in Pompeii.
