The Final Exam for this class will be held MONDAY, JUNE 5 AT 3:15 PM IN ROOM 177. The Final covers the works discussed from after the Midterm to the end of the course. The Final Exam will be divided in this manner:
- Ten (10) identifications for one minute each. Thirty points total.
- Four short-response questions. You will be shown a slide and asked a question to which you will respond with a paragraph composed of full sentences. You will be given five minutes each, for a total of 20 points.
- Five slide comparisons for seven minutes each. 50 points total.
- The entire Final Exam is worth 100 points.
Please remember that you will need to respond to each comparison with a paragraph composed of full sentences.

Left: Right Gruenwald, The Risen Christ Bernini, from the Isenheim Altarpiece Ecstacy of St. Teresa Northern Renaissance Cornaro Chapel, Sta Maria della Vittoria, Italian Baroque.Both works show the use of light as the symbol of a transformative religous experience. Gruenwald's altarpiece, whose cover shows the stark and even gruesome experience of the Crucifixion, is opened to reveal Christ's Resurrection as a metamorphosis into an ecstatic, light-giving and light-filled creature. We are also privileged to view Bernini's St. Teresa, as she receives the message of Divine Love under a fall of golden light. Light is both the symbol and the agent of this great change.
Please also note that there will be no make-ups for the final without a documented, usually medical, excuse. Please note that auditors may not take the final.
