- HIKING TRAILS AND WILDFLOWERS by Keith and Barbro McCree -

Patterson Mountain (1310 m, 4300 ft.) is one of three peaks overlooking
Lookout Point Reservoir. It is an easy 3.5 km (2 mile) hike to the top on
the Lone Wolf trail.
From the trailhead on road 555, the Lone Wolf trail ascends to an open
area, then descends to intersect the top of the Lawler trail. After passing
a large meadow and the Lone Wolf shelter, the trail enters a fine old forest
grove with a lush ground cover, and continues around to a rocky outcrop
on Patterson Mountain. There is a fine view from the top on a clear day.
