Hi and welcome to a virtual tour of my house. The tour begins at the street, into the house to the bedroom for rent. We will take a look at several other places of interest including the kithchen, bathroom, sunroom and backyard.
The larger bedroom is for rent at this time, mid May. It could accomodate a couple.
For rent is a sunny 13 x 13 foot southeast corner of the house bedroom.
It has windows to the south [backyard] and east [neighbor, water tank and bamboo]
The room has a double sliding door closet with shelf above.
Rent is $350 per month one person, $450 for a couple. $100 Deposit.
Plus last month rent. We split utilities. [maxes out at less than $40
each in January, $15 + - summer time]
I would consider a couple. That can be discussed. There are two cats in
residence.
The house is not a good place for children or dog. Other pets can be discussed.
The room has nice hardwood floors, separate phone jack [we have separate phone
lines]
We share the kithchen, occasional shared meals. Share the bathroom.
Please be tidy, responsible, organic, vegetarian, sociable, non smoking.
Place stays pretty quiet, friends are welcome to come over. Not a place
for drugs.
We share modest house chores like compost, recycle, bathroom, kitchen.
Bike riding is encouraged. A car free housemate is a plus!
There is a bus stop 3 blocks away at Horn and River Raod. The
River Bike Path is a beautiful ride into town, about 15 minutes.
River Road area features a recreation center with an indoor pool, weight room,
playground less than a ten minute bike ride a way. University is 20 minutes
by bike, virtually all along the River Bike Path. Very scenic.
Current residents of the house are into healthy living, bikes, vegetarian, art, philosphy.
The house is mid fifties suburban. Three bedrooms, one bath. Hardwood
floors, nice sized kitchen, living room. Decor is simple.
Highlights of the house include lots of practical landscaping [i am into permaculture,
see fotos], two water features, two decks, solar water heater, large sunroom
[large bedroom has a door to the sunroom see foto below] 3 chickens, fish
in the pools, two cats, art, lots of windows, washer dryer, clothesline, 3000
gallon rainwater storage, gardens. A small garden spot can be made available
for housemates.
The sunroom provides a considerable amount of heat on sunny days which is distributed to the rest of the house with fans. It is a great place to read and chat and is full of plants in the winter. Large bedroom has a door opening to the sunroom.
The driveway was removed 5 years ago.
There is a passive solar bungalow under construction in the back yard which will be occupied by the owner [me] within the next couple months. The converted carport [my current room] will become available at that time. It will rent for $365.
The place stays tidy and is intended to be a pleasant and healthy home.
