- HIKING TRAILS AND WILDFLOWERS by Keith and Barbro McCree -

The Salmon Lakes trail provides a pleasant and relatively easy route into
Waldo Lake Wilderness from the west. The trail skirts the south side of
Waldo Mountain. It passes through Waldo Meadow at the intersection with
the Waldo Meadows trail. Upper Salmon Lake is a short distance south of
the intersection. There is a pretty waterfall on Salmon Creek just below
the lake.
The Salmon Lakes trail continues east to Waldo Lake.
