Corner Triangles

Corner triangles are made from a square cut diagonally in one direction so the one square yields two corner triangles. To calculate the size of square needed, divide the finished block size by 1.414 and add 0.875 inch (7/8 inch) for the seam allowance. You can round off to the nearest 1/8 inch.

Side Triangles

Side triangles are made from a square cut diagonally in two directions so that one square yields four side triangles. To calculate the size of the square needed, multiply the finished block size by 1.414 and add 1.25 inches for the seam allowance. Round off to the nearest 1/8 inch.
