| The Days Events: 12:30-1:30 pm: Rally at the University of Oregon’s EMU Diego Hernandez (MeCHA and Multicultural Center) Ty Schwoefferman (Black Student Union Director) Professor Greg McLaughlin (Professor of Sociology at Univ of Oregon) Emily McClain (UO Student Body President) 1:30 -2:30 pm: Community peace parade Look! The Empire has No Clothes, to the old Federal Bldg., 7th and Pearl. 2:30-4 pm: Rally for peace and justice with speakers and music, old Federal Bldg. Emcees: Carmen Urbina and Johnny Lake Speakers: Mayor Kitty Piercy County Commissioner Pete Sorenson Claire Syrett, ACLU Field organizer Savannah Martin, Springfield High student Ibrahim Hamide, Middle East Peace Group Bob Watada, Lt. Ehren Watada’s Father Josh Schlossberg, Native Forest Council Jefferson Smith, The Bus Project Music: Iana Mathews Harris, music/spoken word. Beth Miriam Rose and Friends, folk/movement music Samba Ja, mobile percussion ensemble 4:30-7 pm: Party for Peace, COZMIC Pizza, 8th and Charnelton, Skinner City String Band, Urgent Carnival Political Theater, Kudana Marimba, Ishi & Iana, and In Accord Choir. 7:30-8:30 pm: Silent candle light vigil, old Federal Bldg. The names of Oregonians who’ve died in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars will be read by community members. Help us make the 5th anniversary the final one of the Iraq war.
