========================================= SATURDAY, November 22Vigil to Close the School of the Americas/WHINSEC. 12-1pm, Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza, 8th and Oak Streets, downtown Eugene. Music, speakers, etc.Speak out again interventionist US foreign policy and the SOA/WHINSEC, in solidarity with four Eugene-area activists who will be at the gates of the "School of the Assassins" this weekend. Help us set an agenda for justice and peace under the new administration.

========================================= MONDAY, December 1st, 11am:Last Day to order wreaths from MLP. Call or email the LASC office.It's that time of year: LASC is once again selling holiday wreaths from the farmworker women's empowerment organization "Mujeres Luchadoras Progresistas"! The wreaths are hand-tied, made of fresh Oregon noble fir, and decorated with holly, pine cones and a red bow. They cost $30. All orders must be pre-paid and received by Monday, December 1. By making and marketing these wreaths, members of Mujeres Luchadoras Progresistas contribute to the well-being of their families and develop their leadership skills. ========================================== THURSDAY, December 4th"ZAPATISTA" (part of CALC's "Social Justice Thursdays" Film Series). An incredible film documenting the first four years of the Zapatista uprising, from 94 - 98. Includes interviews with Subcomandante Marcos, Insurgent leaders Tach and Ana Maria, Chiapas Dominican priest Pablo Romo, Zach De La Rocha from Rage Against The Machine, Noam Chomsky, civilian commantes David and Zebedeo, Medea Benjamin,and more. Narration is by Edward James Olmos, Daryl Hannah, Geronimo Pratt, and Mumia Abu Jamal. Rage Against the Machine,Neil Young,and Ozomotli provide the soundtrack.
