Fair Cancellation A Ditch & A 'Glitch'!
On the Friday before the Eighth annual Lughnasadh Games and Fair, in her mighty '76 Landcruiser "White Buffalo Woman", our President and Festival Manager Heather Nic an Fhleisdeir ended up
in a in a ditch with the vehicle nearly on its side and balanced on the stone that topped the culvert. Out of the vehicle, but unable to get help for two and a half hours and needing to attend to injuries caused much
of the crucial timing that goes into producing an event to be thrown off. In her own words: Hello All, Thank you all for your letters of concern.
My apologies for the inconvience to you if you came out to enjoy The Lughnasadh Games and Fair with us and found the event postponed and
then cancelled I was in a car accident *just* before the event. This and other reasons caused my crew to postpone and finally cancel the event at the last minute. All hands were tending to me, compensating for my
inability to finish my role and not on finishing the Fair site set-up. These were their priorities. As I am also the Foundation's webmaster, the website was not 'updated' with cancellation information and we
actually did not know that full cancellation would be necessary until Sunday morning at 9am I think we learned a good lesson about the importance of redundancy and flexibility.
My hope is that you did not
percieve our emergencies as anything but necessary measures, that your journey was not too unpleasant and that you will be sure to come out to the events we host in the future.
Blessings to you,
Heather
